The Most Popular Flowers for Veteran’s Day

thumbnail Veterans’ Day is a time for remembrance, respect, and gratitude, in honor of all those who served our nation in wartime and peacetime.

The history…

In the year 1918, November 11th is when the fighting between Allied nations and Germany officially ended, marking the end of World War 1. The agreement for a cease-fire was grounds for a commemoration of that event. Although originally known as Armistice Day, President Eisenhower signed into law the first Veterans’ Day proclamation in 1954, stating all U.S. veterans in every war would be honored.

Veterans’ Day is celebrated in correspondence to Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are observed in other parts of the world. Often Veterans’ Day is confused with Memorial Day; the difference is Memorial Day is a time to remember the men and women who gave their lives while serving, Veterans’ Day is a celebration of all U.S. military veterans.

Showing appreciation…

thumbnail-1Let your favorite veterans know how thankful you are for their sacrifice and service, by sending them an eloquent vase full of velvety red Ecuadorian roses. In giving flowers, the color red is symbolic of admiration.

The color purple is associated with respect. Demonstrate to your military friends how much you esteemed them by sending these Blissful Blooms, a combination of delicate light lavender flowers and lush greenery.

If some of the veterans you know have a sweet tooth, they’d be delighted to receive a lovely gift basket, filled with luscious chocolate and cookies.

You can also give your special service person a present that they can enjoy for a long time. They’ll think of you every time they look at this gorgeous ornamental Spathiphyllum with its fragrant flowers and shiny dark green leaves. It’ll fit into any décor and add a special touch of class.
