There are so many members of our society that are doing great things – but their contributions often go unrecognized. Still, if you were to ask people across Miami if they had a teacher they admired, they would likely have a story to tell. If you asked about a hospital stay, they will probably tell you about the amazing care of their nurse. Although the two professions are very different, they have one very special attribute in common – both nurses and teachers pour their hearts into their work. In the process, they inspire us, comfort us, encourage us, and give us hope. Both teachers and nurses are being honored in May, and it is a great opportunity for all of us to recognize just how much they matter.
Remember the Dates: National Nurses Week is May 6-12, the first day of the week being National Nurse Day. The dates are chosen annually to coincide with Florence Nightingale’s birthday on May 12. National Teachers Week is May 7-13.
Compact yet exquisite floral designs are perfect for any recipient – these flowers will create a beautiful focal point whether school desk or nurse’ station. The combination of pink roses, purple dendrobium orchids, and pink cymbidium orchids are sure to start a few conversations; while the green tricks, exotic masangena leaves, and steel grass add just the right touch of sophistication.
Fun Fact: According to the most recent census, there are approximately 3.1 million teachers employed full time in the United States. Oddly enough, the number of nurses is estimated to be exactly the same, also at 3.1 million.
Below, pristine white Cymbidium orchids, steel grass leaves, and the signature Trias Flowers silver vase combine for the perfect Thank You gift!
