Spirited Office Decor for the Holidays

Here at Trias Flowers, we’re happy to welcome the noble poinsettia back into the shop again. This cheerful plant, symbolic of the season, is used abundantly in homes and workplaces throughout the country during this time of year. We love this winter bloomer so much, in fact, that we even have a national day for it (December 12).

Introduced to the U.S. from Mexico, the poinsettia came by its Christmas-plant reputation through a legend. It’s said that in the 16th century, a humble Mexican girl was instructed by an angel to pick some weeds by the side of the road and place them on her church’s altar in celebration of Jesus’ birthday. The weeds blossomed into the poinsettia, and the rest is history.

This is the perfect plant to have in the workplace for seasonal decor. Why? Because so many of our work environments desperately need color, and yet are large spaces. The poinsettia solves that problem with its bold red and classic bushiness. You can cluster several together to make a vibrant decorative statement with little effort.

While they also come in pink, white and even orange, it’s the red poinsettia that we see most often. Combine it with other winter greens in your office, place one on every desk or line them up on the windowsills. Since they come in a variety of sizes, you can easily customize the look. And these days, poinsettias come embellished, often found in sparkly pots or worked into arrangements popping with pine cones and berries, too.

Whether you choose a classic red one or a sea of pink-and-white plants, striped like a candy cane, let us at Trias Flowers deliver it to work for you.
